Our Members Said "Yes" to the Merger with DERA

We're thrilled to announce that members of both the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS® (DMAR) and the Douglas Elbert REALTOR® Association (DERA) approved the merger between the two Associations via a vote that took place on Tuesday, August 9th.

The effective date of the merger, approved by The National Association of REALTORS®, is September 1, 2016. DERA will be merged into DMAR,  in accordance with an agreement and plan of merger, and will form our 5th District, the Douglas Elbert District.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for our community and for our Association. Here are some benefits:

  • Economies of scale that allow more efficient use of our resources in areas that matter most to members such as government affairs, education, technology assistance, and others;
  • The ability to speak with a stronger voice for the REALTOR® brand in the Denver metropolitan area;
  • The ability to maintain local presence and services in the regions that the Associations cover;
  • The ability to insure that local community interests continue to have sufficient representation in the combined organization, that member services and activities such as education, community outreach, local member events and others are maintained and strengthened;
  • Significant financial resources to be able to weather downturns and maintain member services and support when such events occur.
