CAR's Ethics Citation Program to Launch as Soon as Jan. 16th

Beginning in January 2016, CAR will begin issuing citations as a method of enforcement of the Code of Ethics. This program was designed by NAR as a way to expedite and simplify the ethics enforcement process. As has always has been the case, ethics complaints must still be fled in writing and reviewed by the Grievance Committee. The Grievance Committee will now determine if the complaint alleges a violation of a citable offense or not. If it is a citable offense, the Grievance Committee may issue a citation to the REALTOR®. Any allegation relating to a violation that is not citable would go through the standard hearing process. A complete copy of the CAR Citation Policy and Schedule of Fines can be found here.
