Continuing Education Requirements
After completing an application and paying the appropriate fees, New REALTOR® members attend a mandatory new member Ethics/orientation, which is eligible for continuing education credit(s).
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training within two-year cycles. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. The current cycle began January 1, 2017. The deadline for this cycle is December 31, 2018.
State of Colorado Continuing Education Requirements
The real estate industry is constantly changing and in order to stay on top of the trends, laws, contract changes, and practice requirements, all active real estate brokers need to complete 24 hours of continuing education during each three year license cycle.
12 of the 24 hours must be comprised of three different versions of the four-hour Annual Commission Update Course. The remaining 12 hours can be any combination of elective credit hours approved the Colorado Real Estate Commission.
*Note: if a licensee takes four versions of the update course during the license cycle, the fourth class may be counted toward the elective credit requirement. It may not be used for credit in next/upcoming license cycle.

Continuing education delinquencies are enforced by random audit, and are generally disciplined by fines ranging from $250 to $600 depending on the severity of the delinquency and when the delinquent hours are made up.
