Home Affordability Increasing for Average Workers Across Majority of U.S. in Second Quarter of 2020
Despite the improved buying conditions, major costs on median-priced homes remain unaffordable to average wage earners in 74 percent of counties included in the second quarter of 2020 analysis. That means major homeownership costs would consume more than 28 percent of average wages from county to county. Read More

Mortgage Rates Keep Falling to Record Lows—So Is Now a Good Time to Refinance?
The coronavirus pandemic has led to a dramatic decline in mortgage rates. But that doesn’t mean now is a good time to refinance for everyone. Last week, Freddie Mac reported that mortgage rates hit a new record low for the fourth time this year, with the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage dropping to 3.13%. Read More

Mortgage forbearances rise after three weeks of decline
There were 4.68 million homeowners with forbearance plans this week, meaning their mortgage payments are temporarily suspended, up 79,000 from the prior week, Black Knight said. The total represents 8.8% of all active mortgages, up from 8.7%, the report said. Read More
