Dues & Payment
Membership Dues Explained
A membership with the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS® (DMAR) puts you in the company of over 7,000 real estate professionals in the Denver metro area who are dedicated to excellence within the industry. It also provides automatic membership to the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the largest trade association in the country, exceeding one million members.
DMAR membership entitles you to many programs and services, including renowned education, training and events, networking opportunities, engaging marketing sessions and the metro area’s largest REALTOR® recognition event, the Excellence Awards. As the largest local REALTOR® association in Colorado, DMAR is an effective political advocate looking out for homeowners’ rights and protecting the real estate industry.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to you, and we are truly pleased that you have given us the opportunity to serve you. In order to make your transition from applicant to member as smooth as possible, please read the following information carefully.
Understanding Membership Dues and Fees
DMAR dues are based on a fiscal year of October 1 through September 30. CAR and NAR dues are based on a calendar year of January 1 through December 31. Dues are collected by DMAR and may be paid online or via check.
To renew your membership please visit dmarealtors.com/renew.
Applicants who have never been a member of a REALTOR® association, or who have not paid dues to another association during the past year, will be charged prorated local, state and national dues depending on the month they join in our fiscal year. If you have any questions, please contact a staff member to assist you with the calculation of your total dues. You can reach DMAR by phone at 303-756-0553 or email us at email@example.com.
After joining, you will receive an annual dues invoice for the following fiscal year (October 1 through September 30). Annual dues consist of NAR dues, CAR dues and DMAR dues. The total amount is due every year during our renewal process, usually during the month of September. If you are transferring from another Association, or applying to become a new member, please contact a DMAR staff member to assist you with the calculation of your dues and submit verification of the NAR Code of Ethics training. Once remitted, all dues are non-refundable.
Important Note for Designated REALTOR® Applicants
NAR's dues formula requires that Designated REALTORS® (managing brokers) pay dues for themselves as well as an assessment that equals the dues amount times the number of licensees in their office. Designated REALTORS® reduce their dues obligation when their licensees become REALTOR® members by joining the association.
Required Courses for Brand New Members
As a condition of your DMAR membership, all REALTOR® applicants are required to attend and complete an in-person DMAR NAR Ethics class and a DMAR Orientation course within 90 days of joining. The NAR Ethics course explains your ethical responsibilities as a REALTOR® and the Orientation will give you an overview of the benefits you receive as a member. Both are required for membership.
