Denver expected to be among top 5 hottest US home markets in 2021, according to Zillow
Denver is expected to be the fifth-hottest home market in the U.S. in 2021, according to the results of a recent survey published by Zillow Inc. The Zillow Home Price Expectations Survey takes into account the predictions of more than 100 economists and real estate experts. More than half (56%) said they expected home value growth in Denver to outperform the national average this year. Read More

Home Prices Are Rising at the Fastest Pace Since the Great Recession, Price Barometers Show
While there may be evidence that demand among homebuyers is waning from the heights reached this summer — as evidenced by lower mortgage application volumes — it still remains very strong. Plus, the supply of homes for sales is all but exhausted. The lack of inventory should continue to fuel home-price increases for foreseeable future, especially in popular markets such as Phoenix and Boise, Idaho. Read more

Wealth Gap Grows Within the Housing Market
The pandemic is expanding the divide between those who are thriving financially and those who aren’t, CNN reports. Stock market growth is enriching the wealthy and they’re up-sizing by purchasing pricier homes. However, those facing unemployment in the pandemic and first-time buyers who don’t have equity in a current house, are struggling in the housing market. Homeowners with mortgages gained about $17,000 in equity in just the third quarter of 2020 alone. That is the largest equity gain since 2014, according to data from CoreLogic, a real estate research firm. Read More
