YPN Volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House

"We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give." — Winston Churchill

On Thursday, September 24th a group of volunteers organized by DMAR's YPN (Young Professionals Network) volunteered to cook and serve dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora, CO.  The group cooked a "breakfast for dinner" spread that included pancakes, eggs, bacon, pastries, and fresh fruit (yum!).

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

Those staying at the Ronald McDonald house often experience stress due to the illness or health status of their child and having volunteer groups prepare and serve meals is always appreciated.

We'd like to thank our YPN for organizing this event and say thank you to all of the volunteers for taking time to extend needed support to these families by giving their time to help provide a delicious and nourishing meal at the House.  You guys rock!

Also, a special thank you to our sponsor, Zippy Shell, for making this event possible.
