Barka Atsemet has worked in the financial industry since 2004 and at Elevations since 2014. He earned a bachelor’s degree with a minor in business management from Colorado State University. Inspired by the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” Barka’s goal is to help you navigate through the mortgage financing process from application to closing. Barka will be your personal advocate and help you find a loan that best fits your needs, whether you're a first-time homebuyer, a homeowner thinking of refinancing your existing mortgage or a seasoned homeowner looking to upgrade, downsize or purchase a vacation home or investment property.

Barka and his family came to the United States as refugees in 1990 and quickly felt at home due to compassionate, caring people like his family’s sponsors, who helped them assimilate into the U.S. and made them feel welcome. After this experience, Barka knew he wanted to serve his community and pay it forward. In his free time, Barka coaches his son’s basketball team, watches all their sports games and enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and dog.
