All Eyes on Gary Shapiro
Denver 9NEWS anchor and morning favorite, Gary Shapiro, will be joining us on April 6th to emcee the 39th Annual Denver Metro REALTORS® Excellence Awards. Gary is a Nebraska native who made his way to Denver in 1983 
where he began his career with 9NEWS as a reporter. He quickly transitioned into his role as anchor in 1989.
In addition to his anchoring and reporting responsibilities with 9NEWS, Gary has produced numerous television specials and documentaries including an in-depth report on the Five Points neighborhood and a behind-the-scenes look at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Gary has also been a part of documentaries on Pope John Paul II, as well as the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor in which he won an award.
Gary's many accolades include Emmys, Best of Gannett and awards from the Colorado Broadcaster's Association. He is also a recipient of the coveted Edward R. Murrow award for documentary reporting.
