"All indications are that we might see a bump up of a quarter to half a percent in 2016," said Anthony Rael, chairman of the real estate market trends committee with the Denver Metro Association of Realtors. Currently, 30-year mortgage rates are about 3.9 percent. An increase to even 4.5 percent could knock buyers out of the home-purchase market.
