DMAR Announced Recipients for Housing-Related Program Support

DMAR Gives provides funding to programs that improve the quality of life for Coloradans through stable housing and homeownership and initiatives that work to create a path towards stable housing as well as provide housing-related disaster relief.

DENVER – NOVEMBER 18, 2022 - Denver Metro Association of Realtors® (DMAR) - an organization comprised of over 8,000 real estate professionals and The Voice of Real Estate® in the Denver Metro area, announced recipients of the DMAR Gives charitable foundation.

Founded in January 2022 by the DMAR Board of Directors and DMAR Gives Committee as part of the CAR Foundation Charitable Fund program, DMAR Gives is a social responsibility program that builds on the Association's mission of addressing housing-related issues and educating the community on wealth-building through homeownership. DMAR Gives provides funding to programs that improve the quality of life for Coloradans through stable housing and homeownership and initiatives that work to create a path towards stable housing as well as provide housing-related disaster relief.

The recipients this year were as follows:

Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation: $5,000 donated

  • With a mission to improve the quality of life for families, sick children, and infants by providing support when and how they need it most, the funds from DMAR Gives will be used to provide rent and mortgage payments to struggling families with seriously ill children, so that those children will have a home to come back to after hospitalization.

The Crisis Center: $5,000 donated

  • The Crisis Center exists to end domestic violence through advocacy, education, and prevention; while helping communities live free of violence. As the only domestic violence program in Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties, the Crisis Center was a recipient for the grant for shelter program operations. Specifically, the DMAR Gives funds will be used to assist in maintaining hotel emergency sheltering and the costs associated.

Rebuilding Together Metro Denver: $5,000 donated

  • RTMD’s mission is to help low-income older adults, seniors and individuals with disabilities to achieve maximum independence and to have a positive quality of life, ensuring that aging homeowners and the disabled may live in safe and healthy homes as long as possible. The $5,000 grant from DMAR Gives will help expand their part-time Program Coordinator position to a full-time position to focus on client outreach, homeowner screenings and scheduling repair services.

Lutheran Family Services

  • In addition, the disaster relief funds went to Lutheran Family Services. The money will fund window replacement for a family who experienced a loss from the Marshall Fire and bridges the gap of what insurance hasn’t covered for them.
