DMAR Announces New North Building

The search for a new DMAR North Office location has not been an easy one, but has been a top priority since the Denver Board, the Jefferson County Association and the North Metro Denver REALTOR® Association merged in 2011.

"Since the original DMAR merger discussions began several years ago, there has always been a commitment to delivering a highly desirable space for REALTORS® and Industry Partner members to network, take classes and capitalize on the massive amount of services that the Association delivers to its 7,000+ members every day," commented Justin Knoll, Chairman of DMAR’s Large Asset Task Force.

In order to find a new location that was suitable for our needs and would offer members a top-notch facility at which to take classes, attend meetings and network, our Board of Directors and staff members collaborated with the North District, the Audit & Investment Committee and the Large Asset Task Force. Over a year later, a location was found.

"For the past few years we have been in a space that was adequate but that we knew was only a short term fix for us. With major inventory shortages in the residential and office space markets in the North district, it has been a challenge to deliver a better space than what we have been in," stated Knoll. "A task force of REALTOR® members was assembled to make sure we were exploring every possible option and that it truly fit the need of the North district DMAR member. We started by identifying our major needs of the space and knew we needed at least 2,500 square feet for classroom and admin services, as well as a conference room for private meetings, ample parking for days when 50+ members may arrive at the same time. We targeted space on the first floor of a building for easy access and a building that offered above-average amenities and finishes. As you can imagine, finding an opportunity that met all of this criteria, and was located in our target area, was a tremendous challenge but with the hard work of our task force and commercial representative we were able to do just that."

Laura Ruch, Past Chairwoman of DMAR and member of the Large Asset Task Force shared similar sentiments to Knoll’s:

"Finding a space that would meet the needs of our growing North District has been a priority for the Board of Directors over the past several years. Our original lease fit the needs at that time but as our meeting numbers grew it became evident that we needed to find a more suitable space. After two years of looking we are very excited to announce that our time and dedication have paid off."

Steve Thayer, DMAR’s Chairman of the Board, is confident that this new location will be a welcomed upgrade from the previous North Office.

"We heard loud and clear what our members wanted and are thrilled to now be able to offer them a great location to attend classes, events, marketing meetings and to network," commented Thayer. "Everyone involved in the search for the new building spent over a year looking at all options and did their due diligence in choosing our new location. I am confident that our members, especially those in the North District, will find our new location to be in a prime spot with easy access, abundant parking and a modern, professional setting."
