Blueprint Denver: Planning for Denver’s Future
Blueprint Denver is Denver’s long-term land use and transportation plan, guiding how the city grows and develops. Originally adopted in 2002 and updated in 2019, the plan focuses on complete neighborhoods, connected transportation networks, thoughtful growth and incorporating social equity into land-use decisions.
In 2026, Denver’s Community Planning and Development (CPD) is conducting a limited technical update to ensure Blueprint Denver remains consistent with recent state legislation and adopted city plans.
The city is currently reviewing community feedback and updating the draft, with a revised version expected ahead of legislative review hearings in fall 2026.

Thornton Offers First-Time Homebuyer Education Course
Homebuying can feel overwhelming, but access to education and resources can help make the process more manageable. As part of DMAR’s commitment to supporting housing opportunities across the Denver metro area, we’re highlighting resources that can help prospective buyers navigate the path to homeownership.
The City of Thornton is hosting a First-Time Homebuyer Education Course on Saturday, September 19th, from 9 AM to 3:30 PM at Community Connections (9471 Dorothy Blvd. Thornton, CO 80229). Led by partners at Brothers Redevelopment Inc. (BRI), the course will cover key aspects of the homebuying process, including budgeting, taxes, home maintenance and down-payment assistance programs Participants who complete the course may use their certificate to qualify for financial assistance toward their home purchase. Applying for Affordable Housing Financing? Energize Denver Can Help
Affordable housing property owners seeking financing may need to provide additional documentation demonstrating compliance with Denver’s Building Performance Policy.
At the end of June 2026, Freddie Mac updated its financing requirements to require borrowers to demonstrate compliance with Denver’s building performance standards as part of the loan approval process. Energize Denver is helping owners, lenders and housing partners navigate these requirements and avoid potential delays.
If you’re planning to apply for financing for an affordable housing property (including acquisition, rehabilitation, refinancing or recapitalization) the Energize Denver team can help review compliance status, prepare required documentation, and identify the best path toward compliance.
