Purchase applications reach highest level in over 11 years
A seasonally adjusted index measuring purchase applications jumped 8% last week, according to a report from the Mortgage Bankers Association. While the week prior saw the seasonally adjusted index rising to its highest level since January, this week the MBA reported the highest level in over 11 years. Read More

Building permits, sales of new homes dipped in metro Denver because of COVID-19
The number of building permits authorized for new residential units dropped by 12.2 percent in Denver in April compared to April of 2019, according to Construction Coverage, a national industry think tank. Construction Coverage looked at Census data to determine that 1,438 units were permitted in metro Denver this April, compared to 1,638 last year. Read More

Housing Starts Climb 4.3% in May as Buyers Return and Builders Aim to Speed Up Work
The numbers: Construction of new houses rose 4.3% in May as a reopening U.S. economy and ultra-low mortgage rates drew more buyers and encouraged builders to start to speed up work. Read More

FHFA extends foreclosure moratorium to end of August
The Federal Housing Finance Agency on Wednesday extended the foreclosure and eviction moratorium for borrowers with mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac until “at least” Aug. 31, the federal watchdog said. Read More
