Colorado governor orders statewide eviction moratorium
The order announced Wednesday bars landlords from pursuing eviction against anyone experiencing “financial hardship due to COVID-19.” To prove such hardship, by the governor’s definition, a person must be using “best efforts to obtain government assistance for rent or housing”; expect to make no more than $99,000 in income for 2020, or $198,000 for joint filers; be unable to make full rent due to a loss of work, among other acceptable crises; make good-faith attempts to pay as much rent as possible; and face a credible threat of homelessness. Buyers, move quickly: Denver homes now selling more than twice as fast compared to 2019, report says
That lines up with DMAR's analysis of the 11-county metro, which found that homes priced between $300,000 and $499,000 spent a median of five days on the market, a 64.29% decrease from the same month last year. Read More
Denver Housing Authority names single finalist for executive director job
A search by the Denver Housing Authority for its next executive director has resulted in one finalist. The quasi-municipal corporation said last week that David Nisivoccia — currently president and CEO of the San Antonio Housing Authority — was selected following a national search, multiple rounds of interviews, and virtual staff and resident forums. A contract is currently being negotiated. Read More
