Government Affairs Update
Your Government Affairs Committee and DMAR’s government affairs staff continue to promote property rights and an environment where your business can thrive through our engagement efforts. This month, DMAR members provided stakeholder feedback on a City of Denver proposal to increase penalties for Residential License Program violations from $999 to $5,000. DMAR is proud to support our “mom and pop” landlords, and we will continue to work with the Denver City Council to ensure that property owners who rent their homes are not subject to excessive fees.
As the Voice of Real Estate® in the Denver Metro Area, DMAR puts our members’ experience and expertise at the forefront of our advocacy efforts. If you would like to get involved with the Government Affairs Committee or learn more about advocacy opportunities, please contact Lauren Cecil.
Election Update
This election cycle brought big wins for housing and homeownership. Fifteen of the 18 candidates endorsed by DMAR won their races, an 83 percent success rate! These candidates are Realtor® champions who understand your business and the value of homeownership, and who will work with DMAR to put your business first. In addition to our candidates, the Vibrant Denver Bond package passed, funding vital community improvements without increasing or adding new taxes. This is the power of RPAC in action.

RPAC Update
What is RPAC? The Realtor® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is made up of voluntary contributions from members. RPAC supports candidates who understand the real estate industry, homeownership and private property rights at the local, state and national levels. RPAC exists to amplify the collective voice of Realtors®, ensuring elected officials understand the impact of their legislative actions on our business. Where the voices of individuals can often be ignored, our cumulative voices provide the opportunity to inform elected officials and champion Realtor® values.
Getting involved with RPAC is important because government decisions directly impact the profitability of real estate professionals. RPAC is the largest, most successful and most bipartisan PAC in the nation. As Realtors®, we have two choices: we can either be players in the political process or become victims of it. RPAC is how Realtors® secure and maintain a seat at the table.
Your investment in RPAC advances your business and is an investment in your community. It enables government affairs efforts and supports candidates who promote and protect the real estate industry right here in the Denver Metro Area. Year-to-date, we have raised $92,744, which is 41 percent of our $226,081 goal. Make a difference and have a direct impact by investing in RPAC today.
